Gibraltar’s Office of the Commissioner for Sustainable Development and Future Generations
Investing in the next generation of leaders
The climate emergency. A cost of living crisis. The covid-19 pandemic. Each one of these demonstrates the complexity and unpredictability of the issues our society’s future leaders will have to tackle. That’s why the Futures Forward Academy in Gibraltar wants to bring together and support some of Gibraltar’s most promising young minds. The aim is to build a pool of skilled change-makers who have a forward thinking approach.
At Kusuma Trust, we believe it’s important to support up and coming talent. So we gave a grant of £12,500 to the Academy, to establish a programme of workshops, keynote talks, mentoring, an international visit and an action project to help develop young people’s potential.
- The Futures Forward Leadership Academy is a new initiative from the HM Government of Gibraltar’s Office for the Commissioner for Sustainable Development.
- The themes explored will include: Health and wellbeing; Biodiversity, climate, environment and nature protection; Socio-economic issues; Addressing gender and social inequalities; and Circular economy, sustainable consumption.
- The Futures Forward Leadership Academy had 9 participants in its inaugural year.
