We recently awarded a grant to Venture Community Association to support their work in North Kensington. The organisation, which was established in 1960, combines the country’s oldest adventure playground with a community centre to improve the lives of the local community. Our grant of £10,000 will help enhance Venture’s current Children Services by extending their opening hours during school holidays.
Venture’s work in the community is much needed. 29% of children in Kensington & Chelsea live in poverty with the borough having one of the highest rates of inequality in London. Through their projects like Community Champions, breakfast clubs and by using its adventure playground, Venture give the young people that come to the Centre an opportunity to develop their skills and concentrate on being children.
We are excited to hear more about Venture’s important work over the next year!
