The second of the annual Kusuma University Talks took place on 26-27 September with over 400 students from Westside, Bayside and the Gibraltar College attending the two-day event.
Through subject-specific workshops, Jane Marshall, from Optimising Futures offered advice to Year 13 students about how to write an excellent personal statement. Oxbridge, medicine, dentistry, and other early entrant applicants benefited from one-to-one sessions to refine the first drafts of their statements. Jane also spoke to Year 11 students about what they should be doing now to prepare for a successful university application. Students also participated in a workshop on CV’s and writing cover letters, which was open to all students including those going planning to go straight into employment.
Jane said: “I had the pleasure of working with the fabulous students at Westside, Bayside and the Gibraltar College, giving a range of talks and workshops on the university process, choosing subjects, personal statements, CVs and covering letters . A busy couple of days but highly worthwhile. My deep gratitude goes to The Kusuma Trust Gibraltar for their continuing support and I look forward immensely to returning for the Kusuma Trust Gibraltar University Interviews Week in mid-November.”
