In November of 2019 we awarded a grant of just over £21,000 to Sparsh Hospice as a contribution towards the expansion of their palliative care facilities in Hyderabad, India.
The impressive new building was officially inaugurated this month and the hospice can now provide services for over 80 patients whilst also caring for 150 home care patients and another 50 outpatients. The newly upgraded facility, which is now over 60,000 square feet, will look after cancer, dementia and parkinson’s patients. To make those staying at the Hospice more comfortable the facility also now has an onsite physiotherapy room, pharmacy, library, gym, lounge, and dedicated space for nurses and doctors to rest and relax.
The CEO of Sparsh Ram Mohan Rao Yarrapothu said: “The centre wil be serving patients with advanced stages of cancer, dementia and Parkinson’s so that they can embrace death without regrets.” More about the grant can be found here.
