We are excited to announce that we are continuing to support research by Professor Sanjay Sinha at the Wellcome – MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, by giving a grant of £225,000. The Sinha Lab have made significant advances towards a “Heart Healing Patch”- a tissue engineered cardiac patch using stem cell-derived cells, that aims to restore heart function after a heart attack.
It is estimated that tens of thousands of patients in the UK would benefit from strengthening their heart function back to normal, which could lead to an improvement in patients’ quality of life, reducing future heart failure and increasing life expectancy.
We are thrilled to be part of this innovative research and look forward to hearing their updates. You can read more about our previous work with the Sinha Lab here.
