We are working once again with MyBnk to support their delivery of innovative, high-impact and high-energy financial education programmes for young people. We have awarded them a grant of £24,500 towards their London based Money Works programme which aims to equip participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to survive independent living. The course will discuss budgeting, banking, borrowing and scams with over eighty 16-25 year olds, many of whom are currently not in employment or education.
MyBnk address the issue of young people leaving school without effective financial education. This can contribute to a higher risk of financial poverty and debt from an early age. Studies show that significant proportions of the UK population do not have the basic skills and knowledge to manage their money, making the need for financial education essential for ensuring financial stability for the future.
We are excited to see how the young peoples financial lives improve following this course! More information about our previous grant to MyBnk here.
