We have given a £10,000 grant to the Museum of Brands in Notting Hill, to go towards their Engaging Young Learners programme. Over the course of the next year, the Museum hopes to attract 3,400 young learners through in-person visits to see the collection, and through online learning.
With our grant, the museum will adapt its existing programmes for various age groups, to be delivered through online workshops and socially distanced self-guided tours. A new learning area with spaced floor cushions will allow groups to learn safely and new equipment such as a webcam, software and increased bandwidth will ensure high quality online classes. The project will also encourage families from the local area to feel welcome in the museum, as young people from schools nearby with a high proportion of children on free school meals will be able to access the museum for free.
Toby Hoare, Chair of the Museum described the value of the project to the museum and the local area: “The Museum of Brands is an important resource for thousands of business and marketing students, along with schools in the North Kensington area and beyond. We are excited about adapting our successful learning programme to ensure we continue to offer high quality engagement to a wide range of learners, ensuring children experience early access to culture and young people gain inspiration for their future careers”.
