The London Met’s School of Art, Architecture and Design has launched an exciting campaign, Rewild My Streets, which seeks to increase urban biodiversity through transformative design for urban streets, gardens and homes. Their current research specifically seeks to understand the potential for small adaptations to private gardens to have a significant impact on urban wildlife habitats.
We are delighted to support this work with a grant of over £58,000 for three critical research phases. The team will use different research methods, including interviews and surveys, to look at people’s response to rewilding. They will develop a strategy to promote rewilding behavior and finally, they will test their strategy with a pilot programme.
We wish them luck with their research and look forward to their findings about the potential of urban rewilding.
