On 12 June, as part of the GROW Festival, we joined with The Environmental Funders Network to host a conversation about the potential of urban greening to address challenges including climate change, biodiversity loss, social fracturing and mental health. The gathering was hosted by our grantee, Global Generation, at their inspirational Story Garden at Kings Cross. The panel was composed of other Kusuma grantees within the green space: Chiswick House and Garden Trust, Buglife, Core Arts and London Wildlife Trust. The group shared their thoughts on the challenges and opportunities offered by urban greening while Kusuma staff and Wates Family Enterprise Trust brought the funder’s perspective to the conversation.
The inspirational work of these charity partners, and countless others, helped generate a robust conversation about the future or urban greening. The Environmental Funders Network and Kusuma Trust look forward to seeing work and funding in this space continue to grow.
