We have donated a prize to The Gibraltar-American Chamber of Commerce and the Gibraltar Federation of Small Businesses (GFSB) Women in Enterprise’s competition. The competition is a chance for local school children to celebrate the historic election of Kamala Harris as the first female Vice President of the United States of America. Young people aged 8-12 and 13-18 years old will be challenged to either do a drawing or write to Vice President Kamala Harris. The winning entry from each age group will be sent to Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House, and will also receive a brand-new Apple iPad, one of which has been donated by Kusuma Trust Gibraltar.
Sara Agnew, Executive Coordinator at the Gibraltar-American Chamber of Commerce commented: “this project aims to promote the fact that everyone can break the glass ceiling and the fact that we are joyous at the fact that we have, for the first time, a black, Asian- American woman Vice-President. With the kind donation from Kusuma Trust we can provide a fantastic prize to the winner.”
The Gibraltar-American Chamber of Commerce promotes Gibraltar and US business relations and organizes an art/writing competition every time a new President is elected to the White House. Applicants are asked to send a scanned drawing or letter of no more than 100 words to info@amcham.gi and the closing date is Thursday 15th April.
