We are delighted to announce the award of over £40,000 to the Foundling Museum for a new exhibition, entitled ‘Family’, opening in mid-March 2023. 

This exciting exploration of the theme of family will be developed and curated in part by graduates of the museum’s unique training programme for care-experienced young adults, Tracing our Tales. ‘Family’ will explore ideas of family – what it means and what it can be – as well as its representation in art from the perspective of the young people with lived experience of growing up without birth parents and/or in care.

‘Family’ will showcase objects and works of art from The Foundling Hospital Collection, from other collections, including the National Gallery, and new commissions from contemporary artists. We are excited to see how this unique exhibition develops and visit the museum to see it in the Spring.
