The Design Museum in Holland Park is establishing a new community garden. We are delighted to support this project with a grant of nearly £25,000 to support the development of a volunteer cohort for the site’s Growing Together programme. Growing Together aims to reduce inequalities in access to green spaces and promote creative learning opportunities.
The funds will support facilitators to lead regular activities with the volunteers and other visiting groups, including gardening and citizen science, biodesign and wellbeing activities. Open days at the garden will feature activities exploring the intersection of nature and design. New interpretive signage using digital technology will help interpret the gardens in a variety of the languages spoken by the volunteers.
We look forward to learning about the development of the volunteer programme and the success of the Grow Together initiative.
