Our grant of £10,000 has enabled 32 A-level students from Bayside and Westside Schools to visit the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), in Geneva, Switzerland. The trip provided a fantastic opportunity to witness cutting-edge scientific research in action at the premier research facility for particle and nuclear physics.
This is the first year that such a trip has been planned, but the organisers hope it will become a regular event that will support the A-level curriculum while also to encouraging more girls to choose Physics A-level and go on to study STEM subjects at University.
