On Monday 20 January we were invited to attend the Ambitious About Autism’s conference focussing on Autism in the early years. Our Grants Assistant attended along side researchers, parents and practitioners who shared their experiences on the subject.
The conference enabled us to learn more about the barriers to accessing intervention services in the early years, the evidence around intervention that might benefit young children with autism and established models like the Barnet Early Autism Model providing direct services for young autistic children and their parents. The conference was a great success and it was a welcome opportunity to meet with other organisations and professionals dedicating their careers to autism!
Earlier this year we awarded a grant to Ambitious About Autism to support their Autism Exchange programme, providing employers with the skills to diversify their workforce and encouraging young people with autism to take part in a professional internship.
