In March of 2019 we awarded a grant to the Akshaya Patra Foundation UK (TAPF) towards their holiday programme. Through this grant, TAPF have been able to fund multiple activities including feeding hot and nutritious food to hundreds of children affected by holiday hunger and thousands of homeless people struggling with food poverty on the streets of London.
Following the success of TAPF’s hunger action during the Easter holidays, the organisation was able to use our remaining funding to feed an extra 2,500 homeless people in London during the summer months. Overall, TAPF’s #HappyNotHungryHolidays helped deliver 10,000 holiday hunger meals this year. The organisation hopes to feed even more people in need in the following years by setting-up a new and efficient kitchen and distribution system.
We are delighted to have been able to support TAPF and hope that they continue delivering their work toward hunger in the UK.
