We are delighted to announce our brand new partnership with UCL. Our grant of over £330,000 will support the creation of a clinical research fellow position. The Fellow will undertake research to investigate why some people and not others develop premature myocardial infarction (MI) and subsequent heart failure, with a focus on ethnic disparities between South Asian and Caucasian patients.

Led by UCL’s Institute of Cardiovascular Science, the research will leverage large-scale biobanks and conduct detailed patient studies at Barts Heart Centre within St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The findings are expected to pave the way for novel preventative interventions and treatments, ultimately improving outcomes for patients under 60 who are at high risk of early heart attacks and heart failure.

We wish the UCL the very best and look forward to hearing about the impact of this important work!
