This month, the Gibraltar Literary Festival celebrated its 10th anniversary, with another fantastic lineup of both local and international authors. We supported a talk by Paterson Joseph, who presented his debut novel, “The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho” in the beautiful and atmospheric setting of City Hall.
Paterson Joseph has performed extensively on the British stage in venues such as the Bush Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford and the National Theatre in London, as well as on UK and US television shows. During the event Paterson spoke about the reason for writing the book, his experiences growing up in Britain, contrasting his life with Sancho’s 250 years before he was born. The event was followed by an engaging question and answer session with the audience.
“The Festival aims to continue to bring authors of this calibre to the Rock so that it continues as an annual event which both the community and visitors alike can enjoy.” – Gabriella Garcia Sheriff, Gibraltar Tourist Board.
