Crisis UK in Brent is launching a new gardening project to introduce at least 50 participants, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, to safe green spaces and a programme of learning on a range of environmental topics. We are delighted to provide a grant of almost £30,000 to Crisis to help deliver this exciting programme.
Participants will visit Harlesden Town Gardens for lessons on growing flowers, herbs, vegetables and flowers. With this new knowledge, participants will aim to establish an inspiring and sustainable urban garden at Challenge House, Crisis’ new Brent premises.
This programme hopes to provide participants with useful skills in raised bed gardening and aims to result in the development of a venue for ongoing environmental learning for both Crisis members and the local community. We are excited to see this new green space emerge in Brent.
