We have awarded a grant of £12,707 to Caxton Youth Organisation, a Westminster-based charity working with disabled young people. Caxton Youth aims to help the young people who use their services to develop into independent adults with brighter futures.
Our grant will enable 20 young people between the ages of 16 and 25 to attend a 10-week digital media course where, with the help of professional videographers, they will learn how to make an edit videos to tell stories about their lives. The videos and other content they create will be showcased on Caxton’s social media channels.
We have also funded the lease of a specially modified minibus for one year, which will allow Caxton to pick up members to bring them to sessions at the youth club’s Westminster base, and to take residential trips to their outdoor centre in Surrey. We hope this grant helps Caxton’s club members to build new skills and have a range of positive and exciting new experiences.
