Supporting organisations doing life-changing work in Gibraltar and beyond

Here are some of the grants we issued since 2017:

Gibraltar Academy of Music and Performing Arts: We gave a grant of £980 to the Gibraltar Academy of Music and Performing Arts (GAMPA), which went towards a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano. The instrument is being used daily by students, ranging from four years old to retirees, for music practice, exams and performances.

Gibraltar Netball: Netball has become the leading team sport for women and girls in Gibraltar, with 30 teams in the senior league and 16 in the junior league. Our grant of £200 sponsored a Gibraltar Under 17s netball team member to attend the European championships in the Isle of Man.

Clubhouse Gibraltar: Our grant of £600 helped fund a professional coffee machine that’s being used to train members of Clubhouse Gibraltar – a work-based programme which provides opportunities for people with a history of mental health problems. The machine will be used as part of their Transitional Employment Placement programme, a vocational rehabilitation project where members can gain or re-gain the skills and confidence they need for work.

Gibraltar American Chamber of Commerce: We donated a prize to The Gibraltar-American Chamber of Commerce and the Gibraltar Federation of Small Businesses (GFSB) Women in Enterprise’s competition. The competition for young people aged 12-18 years celebrates the election of Kamala Harris as the first female Vice President of the United States of America.

JM Memorial Foundation: Together with the PJI Foundation we are funded a pilot project  to help young people in Gibraltar with mental health problems integrate into the community. The charity will build a needs-profile for each individual and arrange targeted support from qualified practitioners in areas such as education, employment, psychological counselling, and social integration into the community.

Gibraltar Rotary Club: We donated over £2,000 towards the purchase of a portable ultrasound scanner and trolley which will be used by the Renal Unit at St Bernard’s Hospital in Gibraltar to provide better treatment and avoid more stressful procedures for dialysis patients. The donation supports the efforts of the Gibraltar Rotary Club, who have raised the remaining amount required to purchase the scanner through their community fundraising initiatives.

Gibraltar Health Authority: We funded a new piece of equipment for the Gynaecology department at St Bernard’s Hospital. The ‘cold coagulator’ is used to treat pre-cancerous changes in the cervix. It can be done as an outpatient procedure, reducing the number of people needing a hospital stay or follow up appointments.
