In July 2020, we partnered with St John Ambulance and contributed £25,000 towards the cost of their Covid-19 training programme for new and existing volunteers in London and the South East.
In the 6 months to December 2020, St John Ambulance trained more than 800 volunteers through 77 Covid care courses and 30 first aid courses to assist local communities during the pandemic and treat patients in a covid-safe way. The volunteers have been putting their learning in to action by supporting the NHS with winter flu vaccinations, delivering first aid and care to homeless people, supporting blood donors at local venues, responding to emergency calls, and transporting patients between hospital and home.
We are delighted to hear that St John Ambulance’s Covid care training has been nominated for a prestigious award. The winners will be announced later this month and we would like to wish them all the best with their nomination. To find out more about their nomination click here.
