Last week, we contributed £2,500 to an appeal by the Harrow Club W10 to provide access to laptops to 40 children in Kensington and Chelsea. The latest national lockdown means that many young people whose families do not have sufficient access to computers and internet connectivity are struggling to learn at home. Many need to share devices with siblings and parents, or are using small smart phone screens, limiting their ability to participate in classwork.
Our grant will enable the purchase of 10 laptops equipped with Microsoft Office, to be used for schoolwork. Some of the laptops will be kept in open access hubs that young people can come to when in need of a quiet place to study, while others will be lent to families identified as needing support.
Since we gave our donation, Harrow Club has expanded its appeal you can read more about it here.
