On Thursday 23rd May Christ Church Kensington celebrated the opening of their Edible playground. With financial support from us and other donors the newly created garden is now open for use by the community, local schools and the onsite nursery. It was a beautiful sunny day and the garden looked green with plants planted by local groups. The garden has a number of raised beds as well as a greenhouse and a learning space.
The event was a real celebration of all that has been achieved to date. Michael Gove MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and Helen Browning the Chief Executive of the Soil Association both spoke glowingly about the new garden. We look forward to seeing how it continues to blossom, especially with Trees for Cities continuing to provide training for the teachers involved in the education project.
